Brief Description
In From the Depths, you can build and personally control battleships, airplanes, submarines, spaceships, tanks, air balloons, and much more from a first-person perspective! The game features a wide range of single-player content, including:
- An editor where you can assemble and polish your machines to wipe out all your enemies across the world of Neter.
- A campaign where you’ll face 8 unique factions located among hundreds of islands in open seas in a strategy mode.
- Story missions where you’ll complete quests for each of the 8 factions. A wonderful blend of strategy, creativity, simulation, and epic battles! Defend your forces from countless enemy hordes attacking you wave after wave in a series of brutal challenges.
- An adventure mode where you start with a small vessel and upgrade it into a full-fledged warship or even a fleet! Travel through a dangerous universe, fighting or valiantly escaping from enemies.
The game also features online modes:
- An editor where you and your friends can build machines together.
- A wide variety of competitive modes.
- You can also play through the entire campaign together with friends.
Key Features
Here, you can create your own machines, brick by brick, combining them into a fleet, building bases with flying fortresses or regular buildings—whatever your heart desires. Currently, the game offers over 1,000 blocks, not to mention 38 different modules for missiles, torpedoes, mines, and bombs, plus about 34 artillery shell modules!
The sky is not the limit for your imagination; you can equip your machines with cannons, lasers, missiles, mines, bombs, torpedoes, particle accelerators, propellers, rudders, jet engines, wings, underwater wings, balloons, anchors, blueprint projectors, repair bots, air pumps, and much more!
Physics: Each block you place or destroy affects the machine’s characteristics, its behavior, maneuverability, and the functioning of individual systems. Points of force application, environmental resistance, center of mass, compartment sealing, buoyancy, and inertia all depend on how you assemble the machine and how it gets damaged in battle.
You can become part of an amazing community that releases something new every week. Regular tournaments are held, people share their creations for everyone to see, discuss technologies, and in general, it’s a great place to socialize!
There’s a vast amount of content for both single-player and multiplayer modes, where you can use your own machines (single-player campaigns, co-op, missions, adventures). You can create your own maps, missions, campaigns, and multiplayer maps using the world editor. Or you can add your own mods using the built-in modding interface.
Everything is Customizable
Or almost everything. The customization options for modules and subsystems in From the Depths allow you to take your machines to the next level:
- You can create your own missiles and bombs, mines and torpedoes with various warheads, fuses, heat or laser guidance, different types of engines, flight algorithms, torpedo screws, and sonars, along with ballast for adjusting the torpedo's depth—everything for delivering handmade troubles to your enemies.
- A wide range of artillery components, such as barrels of various lengths, ejectors, muzzle brakes, feeders, recoil compensators, different projectile components, and various auxiliary elements will let you create everything from an anti-aircraft machine gun to a giant mortar.
- You can bring your creations to life by installing a mainframe block, an AI heart, with customizable behavior maps, target selection, and aiming points. Optics, radar, sonar, thermal imaging, and laser rangefinders combined with artillery controllers will allow the machine to fully, or partially if you prefer, engage enemies without human involvement, as well as move, becoming a fully operational combat unit. You can create everything from an AI-controlled aircraft carrier to a battery-operated drone.
- For energy needs, you can assemble the required engine using cranks, cylinders, injectors, carburetors, turbochargers, and exhaust systems. Electric motors, generators, and battery charging for drones and redundancy of the main power plant are also available.
- Additionally, there are combat lasers, laser point defense systems, battle drills that can carve their way through even the largest ships, ion cannons, jet engines, and more.
