Welcome to Praslav—a cold city in Central Europe that is about to get even colder. Praslav is gradually recovering from the tumultuous events brought about by the end of the Cold War and the collapse of the communist regime that held the country in an iron grip for several decades.

While most residents have embraced the shift to democracy and capitalism, some individuals have struggled to adapt to the new conditions. Soon, they found themselves on the streets, devoid of any prospects.

You are one of these unfortunate souls.

Keep track of your needs and other realistically interacting factors. Your needs go beyond warmth, dryness, and hunger. For instance, neglecting hygiene and wearing dirty clothes can increase your unpleasant odor, exposure to the cold raises the risk of illness, and any food you consume will eventually have to come out.

How far are you willing to go for survival? You can resort to pickpocketing, breaking into homes, and dealing with various representatives of the local underworld. If desperate, you might even take by force. However, you are far from a hero in an action movie. Carefully consider your actions: the consequences can be severe, and the rewards may not be worth the risk. And never let your guard down. Even if you don't intend to harm anyone, there will always be those in the city who wish to do you harm.

Don't let a single day of the fading autumn slip away. Gather supplies, tools, and materials that will help you survive the harshest time of the year. The weather in the city is unpredictable, but one thing is certain: tomorrow will be colder than today. However, with sufficient preparation and a bit of luck, you have a chance to make it to spring.

Unlike many other survival games, Hobo: Tough Life heavily relies on storytelling. Participate in dozens of engaging stories inspired by real events and biographies. Solve mysteries, earn the trust of new acquaintances, make friends and enemies, join various factions, and find your place on the streets of Praslav.

Though you don’t have a warm apartment to return to after a tough day, you don’t have to sleep on a park bench either. Find a hidden spot and get to work. Build walls and roofs from available materials to protect yourself from the elements. Collect discarded furniture and trinkets to furnish your hut and turn it into a cozy home.

Is it too hard to survive alone? Gather a gang. The game features a cooperative multiplayer mode for up to four players. This can include both your friends and complete strangers. Join forces, gather resources, and build a shanty town where you can survive the winter.

For over ten years, no one has united the scattered factions of homeless people in the city. The throne of the king of beggars has long been vacant. Who will claim it by earning the respect of all the city’s homeless? Perhaps it will be you?
