ICARUS is a session-based PvE survival simulator for up to eight players.

You will face the harsh conditions of Icarus – humanity’s greatest mistake. In the pursuit of wealth, you will explore the land, gather resources, craft tools, and hunt wildlife.

Prospectors descend from an orbital station on timed missions to face the planet’s tough conditions, complete faction quests, and search for rare and valuable exotics. Survivors return to orbit to use the exotics to develop new equipment for even riskier expeditions. Those who fail to return in time are lost forever.

ICARUS was once intended to become humanity’s second Earth, but after a failed terraforming attempt, the planet’s atmosphere became toxic, and hopes for colonization were abandoned. Icarus became a symbol of human hubris, mocked for its failure. However, when xenobiologists discovered that the failure was due to the presence of a substance called exotics, Icarus regained attention. The discovery of this immensely valuable resource sparked a new gold rush, igniting political tensions on Earth as prospectors flocked to Icarus.

The unforgiving PvE world of Icarus is relentless in its efforts to wear you down and kill you. Poisonous atmosphere, dangerous wildlife, and violent storms make survival a challenge. You will need to plan everything carefully, from building shelter, securing oxygen, hunting, and gathering supplies to thinking several steps ahead at all times.

Explore a deceptively familiar, yet alien world.
The first prospector team is allowed to operate on a resource-rich landmass spanning over 64 km² with diverse environments and hidden corners. Every tree can be chopped, every rock can be mined, and you must rely on available resources to survive.

Master two tech trees: one on the planet, and one in orbit.
Craft makeshift tools, structures, and machines to survive your time on Icarus and complete your objectives. Accumulate experience on the planet to unlock unique skills and develop useful talents. Upon returning to orbit with rare exotics, you can design advanced equipment. Choose which skills to develop and what new technologies to take on your next drop to achieve goals faster, travel further, automate production, or simply increase your odds of survival. Every decision matters.

Time is of the essence.
Your time on Icarus is limited, so keep an eye on the clock and make every second count. The session length is up to you, ranging from a few hours to days or even weeks. Beware: if you fail to return to your drop ship in time, no one will come back for you. You can choose to build a permanent base, but every mission has a specific goal that must be achieved within the given timeframe.

Your character is the key to success.
Explore the foreign planet, face new dangers, and continually push yourself out of your comfort zone. The cautious may survive, but fortune favors the bold. Those willing to risk it all will find new talents, technologies, and exotics. Are you ready to challenge Icarus?
