Set in the future, you play as an intern who receives a detective license. You are presented with several recreated cases, each challenging and perplexing. Your goal is to unravel these mysteries and pass the exam. Only your keen perception, insight, and clarity of mind will help you. Can you solve all the cases?
Crime Scene is a game where deduction is everything. Carefully examine the environment, fill in the gaps in the overall picture, and seek motives, even if they don’t seem apparent at first. Make hypotheses to avoid standing still during the investigation.
This game is designed for fans of detective films, as well as true crime and escape room genres, and for those who enjoy puzzling over challenging tasks!
A True Crime Detective Experience
You must closely observe each scene and analyze everything at the location. There are no clues or hints here. Take notes on everything that stands out and jot down your suspicions as you move through the crime scene.
Murder Puzzles That Risk Remaining Unsolved
Piece the whole picture together not only to understand what happened but also to establish a connection between the victims and their killers. Only your wisdom, keen instincts, and intelligence can help you.
Calculated Assumptions - The 70/30 Principle
You may find that some evidence is missing, preventing you from drawing a final conclusion. Thus, the case may contain only 70% of the clues, while the remaining 30% may be absent. In such moments, you must fill in the gaps on your own, trusting your intuition and making reasonable assumptions.
Narrative Through the Environment
Did you notice pink lipstick on the wine glass? How about the bullet trajectory on the wall? Or barely visible size 43 shoe prints on the windowsill? These are parts of the clues around you that can help piece the story together.
Solve Puzzles with Friends or Partners
Solving puzzles is more enjoyable when you have someone to discuss them with. Draw conclusions together with a friend, partner, or family! Our game Crime Scene is perfect for this, and we hope you enjoy spending time with someone else while playing. Perhaps they will notice something that escaped your attention during the investigation, and vice versa.
Note for Fans of Murders in Painscreek...
From a gameplay perspective, Crime Scene differs significantly from our first game, Murders in Painscreek. That game focuses on storytelling and uses a fairly simple breadcrumb system that allows players to continue the investigation whenever they catch a key to the solution. This game, however, relies heavily on attention to detail and observation, filling in the missing pieces of the cases, searching for motives (even if they don't seem apparent at first), and making possible assumptions to resolve the case.
In short, Murders in Painscreek is a story-rich game, while Crime Scene is a deduction game.
